MAC’S Restaurant Equipment was founded by Donald McDonald (aka “MAC”) in 1988 after he had worked in the food service industry since the early 1960s. Donald quickly realized customers were looking for a less expensive alternative to starting a restaurant than buying brand new restaurant equipment from over priced dealers.
He purchased used restaurant equipment from a restaurant that had closed and was able to resell the items quickly and at a fraction of the cost of new equipment to his customers. From that point on, Don believed that buying used equipment and restoring it to as close to new as possible provided many benefits to his customers.
Don’s son, Mitch McDonald joined forces with his father in February of 2007. His mission was to help grow the business by buying even more used equipment and expanding the new equipment department.
Like his father, Mitch worked in the food service industry and brought over 18 years of experience in food service sales and management to MAC’S. Mitch is now the owner of the family business believes that customer satisfaction is key to a successful business.
